turning twenty tomorrow. can't believe it. a whole two decades. i'm not a teenager anymore! oh my god, i'm freaking out, i'm glad that i get cake to calm me down. tomorrow my face will be perpetually covered in chocolate icing.

yesterday, for birthday celebrations, we finally went to high tea (though i don't like tea) at the lanesborough hotel, since it was a british tradition that we hadn't experienced yet. so meredith, kate, vito and i got all gussied up (he wore a tie! swoon!) and spent the afternoon sipping from delicate teacups and eating tiny scones and crumpets. it was all quite posh, with several waiters hovering around to refill your teacup every ten minutes (really needed the loo at the end), but we all kept on laughing since we felt so out of our element. but it really was a lovely afternoon, and i got chocolates at the end for my birthday since meredith called ahead. the pianist (cute old man who wished me "many happy returns") struck up "happy birthday" and everyone sang, but compared to what allison, meghan, and anna put me through at chevy's, it was only mildly embarrassing. if only tea wasn't so bland and expensive, then i would drink it everyday. and to make things even better, i got to wear my new poncho-sweater, which is not as weird as it sounds. that night, we got free tix to "tales from the vienna woods," which wasn't that great, but hey, it was free. everything's better when it's free.

don't really know what's going on tomorrow, except for cake-eating in the morning, but a lot of people are out of town, so it looks like i'll be relaxing. and mv comes on saturday! yay!
