still sick, though the headaches are gone. it's just the dry hacking cough and the fact that i can't swallow without wincing that are the problems now.

yesterday, the guys took over the dinner party and held "italian night." they made about 50 million tons of pasta with 3 different kinds of sauce, including vito's carbonara from scratch. they were so giddy and proud, and we girls were so happy not to be cooking that at one point in the night, we were all dancing madly to barry white in the "sky lounge," which is peter and eamonn's flat that overlooks east london.

today, kate and i were going to go to hyde park to do some reading, but since it's raining, we're probably going to go to the reading room at the british museum. it's a large circular room in the center of the museum, with a glass dome and walls that are covered with books. even the doors are hidden and disguised with books. think of the library from "beauty and the beast," and you'll know what i'm talking about. so hopefully i'll actually get some work done, since lots of projects and papers are coming up....
