yesterday, meredith, kate, will and i wanted to go to a jazz club, but after we found out that it cost �12, we decided to take a little walkabout around soho. we just wandered around and found a lot of nice shops and side streets, so it actually turned out better than if we had gone to the club. we found the "colorful" part of soho (kate: "oh, they were all gay? i just thought the clubs looked really fun and the guys were cute."), chinatown, and carnaby street. afterwards, we went to tinseltown 24-hour diner, which was not really a diner, but a 24-hour restaurant with celeb photos (unsigned) everywhere and internet access. but it was fun nonetheless.
today after class, kate, meredith and i went to the tate britain finally (another thing to cross off the top ten sights list), which was pretty nice except a lot of the modern stuff was closed because they were renovating. then we just came back to make dinner and probably watch a movie (lord of the rings! orlando bloom!). tomorrow, we're hanging out with meredith's friend allison and doing a bunch of girly things like shopping and dyeing my hair back to its original color (that will be something i haven't seen in a long time). it's amazing that i haven't done that much shopping in london or paris. i think it's because there's so much stuff that i get intimidated and don't know what to choose. but i'm sure i'll get over that :) especially when christmas shopping time comes around. on sunday, a few of us want to go to cardiff or stratford-upon-avon to continue our tradition of sunday day trips. no one can accuse me of wasting my time while i'm here!
