i really miss fresh air. as much as americans complain and worry about pollution, it's nothing compared to that of france. the cars mostly use diesel, which is supposed to be better for the environment but fills the air with so many particles that when you blow your nose, it's black. plus, with all the people who smoke here, you can't enjoy the rare bits of air that are free from noxious fumes or urine odor. last night, i had trouble breathing because with three smokers in the apartment, there were still remnants of smoke left in my nose and lungs when i was trying to sleep. that's a good thing about america, the fact that smoking isn't really tolerated anywhere anymore. and in the uk, you can really only smoke outside or in designated smoking areas. they are trying to cut back on smoking in europe, with gigantic stickers on each cigarette pack that say "SMOKING KILLS" or "SMOKING GREATLY ENDANGERS YOUR HEALTH," etc., but i think smokers just ignore them. but at least it's an effort to prevent people from starting smoking.
i guess that's my rant for now. the lack of oxygen to my brain is making me crazy.
