the french really know beauty. it's in everything here, from the fashion, to the architecture, to the arts. i wish i brought my sketchbook. today was a walking day. i walked around the ile de la cite, through notre dame, up la rive gauche, through the courtyard of the louvre and le jardin des tuileries. i read for a while there, in the sun with a mist coming off the fountain, but as soon as i got up, it started to sprinkle, which was my cue to go home. tomorrow it's supposed to rain again, so it'll be an indoor day for me, more museums and possibly shopping.
