i finally have some free time, so i'm sitting in my pajamas, watching "sex and the city," and enjoying the wireless internet. so here's what's been going on...

- the nstv retreat at jake's house in milwaukee was incredibly successful. we showed the dm video, which went over really well (they watched it so many times that i had to hide the dvd), played pool (i played three games, lost all three, and now jake thinks i have an addiction), and hung out at the firepit (while the rest of the group played flip cup with jake's mom. wait, what?). what a good way to usher in my 21st birthday.
- the next day involved eight hours of sorority pre-recruitment stuff, which was long but fun. and the girls in my recruitment group are all great, so i'm looking forward to leading them through the whole process in january. thank goodness i don't have to try and make small talk with 50 girls that i won't even really remember (it's really awkward). i can get to know my 20 girls a lot better. plus, i get to eat the food at all the houses, not stay up super late, and dress in sweats all week.
- now i'm home, filling up on good food and shopping. thanksgiving with my family was pretty small, just the four of us, but we had a lovely meal that included garlic in every dish, and that's the important thing.
- tomorrow i'm helping with my old ballet studio's production of "the nutcracker," doing makeup for the little kids. but they're not so little anymore. it totally freaks me out because i remember them from when they were kindergarteners, and now they're taller than i am. but i bet they'll still call me "clara," since they never actually knew my real name.

once i get back to school, i'll be working like mad to get my animation final done for tuesday, so you guys will probably not get an update until after then. hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving, and enjoy the rest of your break!
