today has been the oddest day. everyone is walking around with huge weights on their minds and hearts. i saw alex (super crazy liberal nstv-er) at norris and gave him a hug because it looked like he needed it. even my ballet class was deathly silent and we didn't have the energy to keep up with the steps. i'm glad that northwestern has reversed its reputation for being politically apathetic, but i just wish the election results had made today a happy day. there are chalkings all over campus saying, "what now?" my thoughts exactly...

p.s. kerry went out with class, doing what bush should have done four years ago. i wish i could give kerry a hug and say, "we still love you." i wonder what he's doing now and how he's going to get to sleep tonight. that would be an interesting idea for a movie, showing the private moments of a presidential candidate right after he's been defeated...
