today looks like it's going to be a slow work day, so i'll have a lot of time to surf the internet and update my blog.

last friday, i got half-price tickets for "my fair lady" and went with my aunt. it was very good, though my aunt said, "she's no audrey hepburn," at the point when eliza's dressed up for the ball. the girl could sing though, which is a plus. as much as i love audrey hepburn, i will admit that she can't sing. the songwriters for breakfast at tiffany's had to compose "moon river" especially for her since she had such a small vocal range. but anyway, the performance was good, they managed to make my two least favorite songs some of the best numbers in the show.

on saturday, i bought new glasses! i wanted to go for something bolder, so i got plastic frames that are mauve on the inside and turquoise on the outside, which blends kind of into a dark blue. when i told my-van what they look like, she said, "turquoise?! are you turning into one of those funky british girls?" i'm not really, but that would be kind of cool.

that night, i met up with suzanne and her mom, and we went to see "fame." it was RAWTHER cheesy, and similar to the movie, but not similar enough. suz and i kept on saying, "why isn't he gay?" and "where's the girl who changes her name?" it was confusing when they had some of the characters from the movie but would change their stories. oh, and when one of the teachers said, "artists are special," i had to fight to keep myself from laughing. with song titles like "i want to make magic," you can probably tell what the show was like. but it was fun to see it with suz and her mom.

on sunday, i met up with suz and her mom again on what turned out to be the hottest day in recorded uk history. really bad idea. i thought i was going to die when we were walking around. anyway, we tried to meet at a museum that didn't exist, but then we went to the design museum, which was pretty interesting. sunday was also my aunt and uncle's anniversary, so i stayed at home with manuel while they went out to dinner. last night, they went to the premiere of "the man who sued god," so i babysat manuel again. but this time, it wasn't just when he was sleeping, so i got to feed him, bathe him, and put him to bed. i'm definitely getting better with the baby stuff. a year ago, i wouldn't have ever taken care of a baby because i would have been afraid of breaking it. i wasn't even very good at babysitting little kids. now i'm getting the hang of it.

at work, i just did a competitive review for nestle, so i've seen basically every commercial for every brand of yogurt for the past five years. whoo hoo! but now that's over, and i'm bored again. i have two and a half more weeks to go, the time has passed really quickly. have fun, you people going back to school!
