my yogurt interviews were cancelled, which comes as a bit of a relief, since most of you know i hate talking to strangers. and i had a feeling that no one would be really willing to talk about yogurt, that is if i could get in with a camera past the store management. so anyway, i get to work on this project now about uk culture, which is going to be a lot more fun.

last thursday and friday i got to follow the tv department people around, which sounds cool but was actually a lot of me waiting around watching cricket and mtv2 so i wouldn't be in the way while they set up. but i got to see a test shoot for a macleans toothpaste ad, go to the narration recording for that, watch them lay sound on a kodak ad, and on a spectacularly high note, see them superimpose an image of a spinning pad over the commercial for poise incontinence pads. at least i got to go into the city though and learn a bit about tv production. and all the production houses cater to your every whim and bring fruit and drinks and sandwiches, so that was awesome.

the sound of music sing-along with suz was great, because everyone was so enthusiastic. there were so many people dressed as nuns, several people dressed as "brown paper packages tied up with string," and even two puppets! there was a bunch of things that you had to do whenever a certain character came on, like hiss or meow when the baroness came on, boo for a nazi, and my personal favorite, bark when rolf the telegram boy was onscreen. during "do-re-mi," we all had motions to go along with it, and in our goody bags, there was fake edelweiss to wave around during that song. suz and i had so much fun, taking pictures and singing at the top of our lungs. i definitely need to go to the abba sing-along that's coming up :D

yesterday matthias, my uncle, was in a bikeathon for breast cancer, and he went 52 miles in less than 3 and a half hours! it ended in cambridge, so my aunt, manuel and i went to meet him there and walked around the town a bit.

today, my aunt has to watch another baby in addition to manuel, so i helped her this morning, but i felt really bad when i had to go to work. as i was closing the door, both kids were screaming and sobbing when they should have been asleep. poor co be, i would have stayed to get them to sleep, but i was already late for work and i've been slacking off enough. which reminds me, i'd better get to work on this project. cheers!
