"it's like everyone's a supporting actor in the film of your life story."
- i just finished "high fidelity" (i love nick hornby, by the way) and that line above reminded me of a conversation i had years ago with a friend. she basically said, "it's weird to look at the other people around me and realize that they have their own lives. like they don't exist just to pop up in my own life." it sounds pretty narcissistic, but has anyone else ever felt like this?
- on a related note, does anyone believe this? i agree that my generation is pretty self-centered, considering that we painstakingly create profiles on social networking sites, take multiple pictures of ourselves at an arm's length, and constantly UPDATE OUR BLOGS. but how can we blame that on mr. rogers? that's just unfathomable.
- still no job (i've applied to a dozen things on craigslist to no avail), so i've started going to ballet three times a week so i don't turn into a lardass on the couch.
- do punches in real life sound the way they do in films? i'm tempted to punch someone to find out. the victim will probably be matt.
- still no job.
- after i left my car for two weeks, it wouldn't start. after jumpstarting it and driving it around to recharge the battery, it died again in the middle of the road (embarrassing!). the exact same thing happened to matt when he got back (he also got stuck in the middle of the road). bad things always happen in threes, so we're expecting mike's car to die as well since it's been sitting on our street for several weeks. at least we'll be prepared next time.
- STILL NO JOB.
UPDATE: to help me in my job search, i finally created a website so that when i apply to postings, i can show them my work. thanks mv, for making the template in that class!
