my-van and thuy-van go to disneyland!

mv's in town this week! of course we've been sitting around, watching movies, doing craft projects, playing board games, cooking, and dyeing hair, but today we also went to disneyland!! thanks to meryl, we got some free passes and mv got to enjoy the disney experience for the first time since she was 8. it was magical, as usual. obviously it's all a big commercial racket, but no matter how old you are, you always get a thrill when you first walk through those gates or hear one of those familiar songs. here are some pics...

i only rode the merry-go-round ONCE this time (unlike my first trip to disneyworld, 20 YEARS ago).


mv triumphed over space mountain! she was very afraid to go on that ride and the indiana jones one, but those two turned out to be her favorites.
