goodbye to everything that i knew

ooh, haven't updated in a while...

- now that the underclassmen have moved out, the campus is completely deserted. it was weird to wake up today without the moving-out ruckus outside my window. last night, we played sardines by the library, and it was eerie since no one else was out and about. all the buildings were completely empty, which was a strange sight. the game was fun though, and it was ridiculously hard to find ross and meredith when they were hiding. ross hid in bushes that were apparently infested with bugs because i couldn't shake that creepy-crawly feeling off of me even after we left the hiding spot. mer hid in a tree and it took almost an hour for everyone to find her. i love how we've reverted to our childhood just as we are supposed to enter true adulthood.

- we had our transition meeting on thursday, where the old nstv exec kinda gives the new exec advice on what to do next year. then the seniors left the new exec to discuss their plans for the future, and as we were parting ways, amanda admitted to getting a little teary-eyed. exec was such a close-knit family this year, and it'll be weird for amanda and robert to have to adjust to a new group. but they will, and it'll be awesome, i'm sure. it's hard for me to leave it behind.

- we played the most intense game of croquet ever on wednesday. the teams were me and will, mer and joef, and the two matts (kraft and cozza). near the end, it came down to us and the matts, but it looked like they were going to win since they were going through the last two wickets and i was still only 3/4 of the way through. then cozza hit the stick and got out of the game too early, and kraft made the mistake of his life and just missed the stick. there was seriously like one blade of grass in between his ball and the end of the game, and will jumped on this opportunity and managed to knock the ball away and send it all the way downfield. i had to quickly catch up then, knocking kraft out of the way again, and will and i pulled through to the finish with the most spectacular win that has ever been seen in croquet. it was ridiculous. now i'm will's favorite croquet partner and he still can't stop talking about the game. it was that beautiful.

- senior week started with the barbecue at the alumni house. a lot of people were there, and it was crazy because everywhere i looked, i made awkward eye contact with someone that i don't ever talk to. looks like that's how it's going to be for the entire week. great, as if i weren't awkward enough...
