some kind of wonderful
yesterday was such a good day. it started off with a bunch of nstvers going to six flags, which i was super-excited about since i hadn't been to an amusement park in forever. but my eagerness soon faded as we were going up our first coaster, "raging bull," and ross turned around and said, "i don't even like rollercoasters." i then remembered that i don't really either, and i replied, "me neither! what am i doing? why am i here?" and then we fell.
but it was awesome. i definitely can handle rollercoasters better now (and better than chris), so we rode almost all the major ones. my favorite was "superman," which didn't make my stomach leap into my throat at all, it was just exhilarating because i love the sensation of flying, rather than falling.
of course i can never go to an amusement park without getting funnel cake. amanda, kat, and i were obsessed until we finally stopped to get some. actually, we were obsessed with food in general. even after we were full on lunch, we were disappointed to see that we had missed out on the giant turkey legs and corn on the cob. and then after the amusement park, we all went to the deluxe diner to eat more sketchy food. and today we're having a barbecue. the food will never end :)
but the best part of six flags came at the end of the day, on the last ride. we had ridden the teacups earlier because robert hates them, and ross tried to make him sick by spinning the teacup as fast as possible. thankfully, the girls were separated from the boys at that time, but the second time we did it, i decided to ride in the "fast" cup with ross, aaron, katherine, and jessica. it was CRAZY. here's basically how the ride went...
ross: [turning the wheel as hard as possible with the angriest face ever] "GO GO GO!!! FASTER!! DON'T STOP!! TURN TURN TURN!!!"
katherine: [screaming with her hands to her head] "this is not happening to me!"
aaron: "DON'T LOOK UP! JUST DON'T LOOK UP!!! DON'T LOOK UP!"
jessica: [just screaming]
me: [accidentally looking up and getting my head snapped backwards because of the centripetal force] "oh my god! i'm going to die!!!"
who knew the teacups could be so intense? by the end, i was hanging over the side trying not to throw up my funnel cake and hoping that i didn't have whiplash, katherine was a pale shade of green, and ross ripped the blisters on his hands and somehow got a great bruise/welt on his back. even though i felt sick for a couple hours afterward, it was a hilarious way to end the trip.
later that night, we went to the keg (for the second time in my college career) to hear FITT, which is ryan and katherine's band. they were awesome, and ross dazzled the bar with his lanky dance moves. then at mer's, sully built us a ridiculous fort in the living room and we all slept there as if we were six years old again. i slept so well, which was probably because i was exhausted, but the fort was really comfortable too.

it was the perfect day for the young at heart.
