you've got the best of my love

well, the premiere is over and it went better than i could have ever imagined. after some intense days in the avid finishing up the show (here's ross with all fifteen hours of taped footage)...



... friday rolled around, and it was time to premiere our 70 minute episode, what we had devoted our lives to for the past nine months. my family and friends came in from out of town to attend, which meant a lot to me, since this is the only thing that i've done all year, and i definitely wanted to share it with them.




despite the rain, we still oversold the auditorium, so with 600 seats, there were still people sitting in the aisles. i didn't even get a seat! chris and i were left by ourselves in the front, and i was forced to sit on the floor, nervously twitching and fidgeting the entire time. but the audience response was absolutely fantastic. sketches like "diving," "7 new ways," and "wunderbar," the sketch i animated, were the crowd favorites, but everything "went over like gangbusters," as ross would say. here's robert celebrating by doing the "katherine dance"...




it was the best feeling getting congratulated by everyone after the show. surprisingly, other film majors, who are super picky, were saying that the show was awesome (nstv is finally getting some respect in the rtvf department). and even hussy and matt, the two most critical people, said it was hands-down the best nstv ever. it was such a gratifying night, and i was filled with nothing but love, especially for meredith, who wrote a card that almost made me cry...

it was one of the best nights of my life. thank you nstv, for making this year so incredibly memorable and fulfilling. i could not ask for more.
