fading into beautiful light
- last night, after flyering for nstv, i went to nevin's for cara's birthday. i actually had fun in a bar for once, hanging out with friends that i've neglected for the past few weeks and playing bar games. much better than standing around, watching other people drink, and trying to avoid sleazy barflies. i discovered yet another game that i suck at, which is darts. at one point, we were throwing darts from the bench instead of standing, and i somehow managed to get mine stuck in the wooden frame surrounding the dart area, two feet from the actual target. i guess it wasn't as bad as matt, who ended up with one stuck in the floor, but i have established that darts is not my thing.
i was actually decent at pool, considering that i've had practice at home, but that didn't help when i was playing against sully. he rocked the table, even though he was the least sober one there. maybe that's the secret. maybe i'd have much better luck if i wasn't so sober all the time. i'll try it the next time i go bowling :)
- i picked up my yearbook a couple days ago, which felt weird and high-schoolish. thank goodness we're not signing them or anything. the worst messages were like "it was fun sitting next to you in [some class that you barely remember]. you are an awesome person, don't ever change. KIT!" of course everyone tried to get as many messages as possible written in their yearbook so that they would seem popular, but then you end up with only a multitude of lukewarm sentiments to remind you of your high school experience. well, maybe that really was my high school experience.
anyway, it's funny, because i surprisingly show up in this yearbook a couple times, which makes it look like i was actually involved on campus. the best thing ever is that meryl sent in that pic of her and me from tacky prom for the alpha chi page. so us in our super-fly glasses will be forever saved for posterity. i have a feeling that picture is going to come back and kick me in butt someday...
