on tuesday, during the fluke beautiful weather, mer and i put on our tank tops, skirts, and flip-flops, and headed into chicago to wander around and take pics for her photojournalism class. we loitered around the sandra bullock movie set, waded in the water at the beach, and managed to finagle our way onto the private deck at navy pier so that we could take pics of the skyline. then we ate an obscene amount of ice cream. what a good day. i love tuesdays with meredith, because her class forces us to go into chicago and take advantage of the city.
while i was driving meryl home from the airport today, she came up with this elaborate metaphor for her life at the moment, involving a ship. i can't remember it exactly, but i came up with one for my own life. right now, it's like i'm driving a car really fast, almost recklessly. i don't know what i'm driving to exactly, but i'm in too much of a hurry to get there, and everything's rushing by so quickly. it feels dangerous, but exciting at the same time. there's nothing i can do to slow it down, so i guess i might as well just cruise with it...
