it is a day of beauty

this turned out to be one perfect weekend. friday was crazy, and the fun has continued. yesterday was the nstv bbq, which was unfortunately rained on, but was still a success. a lot of people came, the food was delicious (yay for corn and potato salad!), and it was a nice laidback farewell to the seniors. here are brent and ross grilling in the rain...

after a nap in the fort, we went to the theater majors' senior showcase, which made mer and i wish that we had talent, and then we saw griffin's tale, which made us feel even more inadequate. but it was entertaining.

this morning, as soon as i got up, mer proposed that we go to the beach since it was so hot and humid outside. mer, meryl, and i laid out on the sand, jumped in the icy lake a couple times, then decided to take advantage of the pool on the roof of meryl's building. along the way, ross and amanda were added to the group, so we had a nice little impromptu pool party going on. meryl said it seemed like a vacation. the water temperature was lovely, and we discovered that the ground was toasty, so we stayed out even when it looked like a storm was coming in...



i've got some interesting tan lines going on now, but it's better than the pale and pasty alternative. and just to make today even better, mer and i are finally going to the "sundaes on sunday" thing that jamie's house throws every week. ice cream was the only summertime treat that was missing from this weekend, so it looks like i will soon be perfectly content. :)
