MattKraft21: how is anyone supposed to stalk you if you don't ever update that blog thing?
ok, fine. even though that is totally creepy, i will update my blog because it's about time.
moved into the house at the beginning of january, and i was pleasantly surprised to find that i have one of the biggest rooms in the house. it won't last though, because we're switching rooms in february and i have absolutely no points. i will probably end up in a closet with all of my clothes shoved under my mattress for storage.
rush was ok, but i found that i'm completely inept at talking to strangers. definitely need to find some way out of it next year, considering that i was totally useless and i feel like i don't know any of the new pledges at all. that was a week of my life that i will never get back and that i will not fondly reminisce about.
classes are pretty good, but a lot more intense than i thought they would be. i registered for two film classes, a french class, and basic sculpture, thinking that i could slowly ease my way back into the american form of education. yeah, not so much. i'm not used to having to do work every week anymore. but my classes are awesome besides the unwanted work load. my musical class (ignoring the fact that my teacher is the worst lecturer ever) is wonderful, and every week meredith and i come out singing and dancing. i think everyone in that class must hate me because i laugh really loudly at everything in the films and i fidget during the dance numbers because i want to be dancing with them. but at least i try my hardest not to sing along. film production is fun because i actually know people now and i'm not the reject sitting in the corner alone and doing projects by herself. remember, this is my breakout year! french is fine, but not interesting enough to hold my attention. plus, there's a composition every week. i LOVE my basic sculpture class. playing around with materials and making art for six hours a week for a grade is my idea of heaven. my first sculpture was made entirely out of spoons, and now we're moving on to plaster. i actually enjoy the many hours that i spend modelling clay, and it's so therapeutic, so i've hardly been stressed at all with everything going on.
still doing nstv, which is so much more organized and spirited this year. am really excited about being on set and hanging out with all these crazy people. yesterday, our meeting wasn't so much a meeting as a goof-off session on the basketball courts at blomquist.
wasn't doing danceworks, because basically billy told me no when i asked him about it in the fall, but then some girl dropped out of a piece and they asked me if i wanted to replace her. so i'm doing it again, which is awesome, but the piece is really modern, which is not so cool. i mean, the piece is good, but i suck at modern. i can't move my body that way, with all the rigid ballet training, so i just look awkward and stiff. oh well, hopefully it'll come with practice and time. i'm glad to be performing though, because i've missed it.
allison's in town for the week, so i'm meeting her and meghan for dinner tonight, and i'd better get going. i hope you all are doing well back at school or wherever you are!
