- i hate weather forecasts. they're calling for rain, wind, and SNOW on this weekend. i need to stop checking the reports, they're just stressing me out.

- brent and i watched "napoleon dynamite" yesterday again. what a great movie, despite mv's opinion. it's definitely weird and disjointed, but you've got to admit that you love all the 80s references (like trapper keepers, fanny packs, and the pop-up vcr that was the exact one that my family had). and we couldn't help but recite lines and sing along with the soundtrack ("forever young"? "the promise"? best songs ever!). my favorite moment might be...

D-Qwon: Welcome to D-Qwon's dance grooves, are you ready to get your groove on?
Napoleon Dynamite: Yes.

... or when pedro's cousins drive up to the school in their hydraulic car and just shake their heads at the guy who's bullying another kid, or when napoleon is climbing the fence after beating up uncle rico and he falls off. there are so many choice moments in that movie, you have to give it another chance, my-van. at least for richie's sake.

- we've started adding sound effects to the sketches that have been edited. i showed ross a clip that i added a sound effect to earlier this week, and he actually laughed out loud and really hard. that's a good sign, not just because ross is usually pretty mellow, but also because the sketches have stopped making us laugh since we've seen them so many times. if we're still cracking up at things after the 50th viewing, then hopefully we won't have any problems with the audience.

- today we also calculated the length of material that we have so far. we already have over an hour of stuff edited, and in the next two weekends, we're shooting five new sketches and the intro. we should end up with about 80 minutes of show, but we're definitely going to cut out the sketches that don't really hit so that we have an hour of really good comedy. of course we're attached to the sketches and it'll be hard to let some of them go, but we don't want a "tiddlywinks" or "ceo tiger" situation like last year.

i miss having pictures on my blog, but since i haven't taken any lately, here's a random but classic one, taken in vietnam, where we slept under mosquito nets to avoid getting malaria :)
