it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood

- amanda hooked me up with an interview at a post-production house, which i went to yesterday. initially, it started out as an informational interview, then turned into an interview for an administrative assistant position, then ended up as an interview for a runner job. the place seems really nice, plus they have branches in new york, LA, and london that you can transfer to. yesterday afternoon, i got a voicemail from the woman that i talked with, and she said that she was talking with sam and jacob (the two assistant editors that also sort of interviewed me), and they really liked me, so they'd like for me to keep them in mind and come back for another interview. i also got a contact from her for their LA office, so that i can set up an interview with them as well when i'm out there in a couple weeks. it's worked out pretty well so far, and my mom even said that she was proud of me, which is huge.

- today, it was absolutely gorgeous outside, so instead of spending the day inside at a museum, mer, sully, and i hung out at the beach all afternoon. it was a monstrous sandstorm out there, but we moved up to the lifeguard chairs to read and get some sun. after three hours, mer was pretty sunburned, and i'm still picking sand out of my eyes and ears, but it was definitely what i needed. i see many days like today in my future, especially if our dream comes true and we live on manhattan beach someday!

- free scoop day at ben and jerry's today. one of my favorite days of the year.

- on the beach, mer told me, "i have 'horton hears a who' stuck in my head." the same thing happens with me and lines from movies or tv shows. it's like getting a song stuck in your head, but instead it's just a few lines that you keep on repeating over and over to yourself. i thought i was the only person that did that.
