see vito, i wasn't lying when i said that i'd visit. i just got back from william & mary, and i had such a good time! of course, i don't regret going to northwestern, but i think i still could've been happy at wm. though i might've gotten a warped version of what life is like at wm, since there were a lot of activities going on this weekend, the weather was great, i kept running into people i know from high school, and everyone was in a good mood, so williamsburg seemed like a very happy place.
friday: i drove down and got settled at becca's. man stopped by, and not long afterward, suz arrived to surprise everyone. my visit brought everyone together! becca was on the committee that was throwing a foam party in the sunken gardens with dj gavin holland (another kid from our high school who really needs to change his dj name), so we spent most of the night there. i saw a lot of jefferson kids, had a few awkward moments since i didn't know a bunch of them that well, but the oddest part of the night was when i saw george, a guy who went to my middle school whom i had the hugest crush on the summer after eighth grade. vito and becca forced me to say hi to him, and surprisingly, he remembered who i was, even after seven years. but the first thing he said to me was, "wow, so you finally grew!" mortifying.... then all the girls and vito (who sometimes can be considered a girl, he admitted that he wishes he could wear tight pants) hung out in becca's room and talked until 3 (crazy college hours).
best quotes of the night:
"i was in budapest, alone, and naked." - suz
"how do you say 'massage my butt!' in hungarian?" - suz/man
saturday: went to lunch with a bunch of jefferson girls and walked around colonial williamsburg. suz went home, but becca, vito, and i went to dinner, then to meridian, which is a student-run coffeehouse, to listen to some bands (i have never seen so many converse sneakers in my life). we stopped by vito's frat house to see lasken, who is vito's "big" and used to be my french partner every day in m. beeckman's class ("pas d'anglais!"). then we went to open mic night to see vito's friend and stayed until the end. inspired by the really bad poet onstage, we decided to write our own poetry on napkins. here are becca and vito's poems....
"I like sandwiches.
TV has some riches.
Vito's into bitches." - Becca
"Becca toasts the card.
TV punches really hard.
I chunga zard." - Vito
the last act was a cute and funny guy who wrote his own songs. the best line ever: "if i was a pimp, would you be my whore?" by the end, people were singing along and he was the only act that had an encore. then of course, we hung out in tina's room until 3 again.
best quotes of the night:
"the computer is a box of lies!" - vito
(referring to how people spit when they talk) "so basically we have been consuming you. i think i need a shower." - becca
"so my sisters stuck him in my underwear when i was asleep and said, 'ew! you diarrheaed a pig!' and then his name was diarrhea oink." - tina
so thanks guys, for a really fun weekend. since i was really desperate for time with friends, i was so glad to be there, i almost didn't want to leave. love you all!
