the end of the last quarter of the last year of school ever.

after the craziness that was dm, i woke up on sunday to an AIM message from ross that went something like, "thuy. wake up. i can't get things done without you around." and so began this busy week.

we had to get ready for our preview show, which involved lots of rehearsal and lots of errands. meryl, ross and i spent an afternoon wrapping prop christmas presents, and exec spent an entire day baking 500 gingerbread cookies from scratch (molasses is kinda gross) to give out at the end of the show. amanda and i were up to our elbows in dough, and i piped icing on about 200 cookies in the shapes of gingerbread men, snowmen, christmas trees, candy canes, and reindeer. all that stuff, combined with my final paper that had to be written, made for a very stressful three days.

but the preview shows went really well. the 8 o'clock was kind of lame, since not many people were there besides families of exec members, but the 10 o'clock was packed and there were even people that had to stand at the back. the sketches went over pretty well, and our carol singing definitely warmed the audience's hearts. it may not have been a particularly gut-busting show, but it was a feel-good spectacular. after the shows, people hung out to have cookies and milk and to take pictures with funny dressed as santa. all in all, it was quite the success.

a running joke throughout the show was that everyone thought that i didn't celebrate christmas, since chris declared, "you're from china, right? that must mean you're a jewish!" the funniest thing ever though was that after the second show, some asian guy came up to me and introduced himself, saying, "are you really from china?" after i said no, he asked, "oh, so are you really jewish?" and i was like, "no, that was a joke." he seemed disappointed. asian guys are so weird. they'll hit on anything that may have come from the continent of asia, and this guy seemed particularly excited about the possibility that i may be a chinese jew.

now that yesterday is over, things have finally wound down. i had my last paper due yesterday, my last ballet class, and my last lecture EVER. i still have a take-home final due on wednesday, but it's so weird that i will never go to class again. it's also kind of sad so i'd prefer not to think about it. everything's changing so quickly...
