oh goodness, sorry it's taken this long for me to update my blog. things have been crazeee. in order to make this easier to read, i'll put it in note-form:

- classes are ok. my analysis and performance of literature (aka anal perf) class is all right, but not too much fun since nafis is not in my class and it's at 9 four days a week. media contexts is fun, we get to watch some fun clips (american idol today) and listen to our funny professor. the 3-hour lectures for my media construction class are god-awful, he talks about stuff like new digital media and how it runs, which is stuff that we don't need to know, we just need to learn how to work the equipment (which we do in the two-hour labs twice a week). and italian is the same, except we're reading this novella that no one understands. so overall, there's nothing spectacular going on class-wise.
- rush was insane. trying to remember all these girls' names, rehearsing for skit every night into the wee hours, worrying about whether the girls i liked would pick our house, etc. but i guess in the end, it was worth it, we have a really cool bunch of girls as a our new pledge class, and i finally got to know the other girls in the house better. well, maybe the late nights and having to go back up north in the freezing cold weren't totally worth it :)
- nstv is starting to shoot its sketches now, which i'm really excited about. last friday, art crew painted this hideously gaudy pink and purple set for one of the sketches, and i spent about an hour and a half on my hands and knees painting a sign with my fingers since we didn't have any brushes. i haven't done any set crew things for shooting yet, but i do get to be an extra when they need people to fill out the scene. hopefully some time i will be able to help out on set. and at our meeting last night, we finally learned names, so i hope i get to know those people better too, since they are all hilarious and fun just to be around.
- danceworks, this faculty-choreographed performance thing, started rehearsing hardcore this quarter. i have two rehearsals a week, and on thursdays, when i also have ballet class, i end up dancing four and a half hours. but the rehearsals are a lot of fun, we're doing a lot of partnering work, and i basically get thrown into the air at one point, which is like flying :) we play around with steps all the time, and terri, our choreographer, just makes it up as we go along. it's going to be really cool, and the performances are the first two weekends of march (my family's coming out to see me!), so mark your calendars!
